RoboScience

Founded in December 2024, RoboScience is a global leader in general-purpose embodied intelligence. The company has developed a proprietary large-scale embodied intelligence model with cross‑ontology generalization capabilities, trained efficiently on vast amounts of “simulation + video” data. Leveraging an integrated software–hardware approach, RoboScience is building the next generation of robots capable of autonomously executing complex tasks.

Team Introduction

We have brought together top talent and seasoned experts from world‑class institutions such as Stanford University, University of Science and Technology of China, The University of Hong Kong, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, National University of Singapore, and ETH Zurich, as well as leading AI technology companies including Apple, SenseTime, and Ecovacs, and are leveraging our technological prowess to reshape the development paradigm of the embodied intelligence field.

Tian Ye

Founder and CEO of RoboScience. He earned his bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of Science and Technology of China and his master’s degree in Computational and Mathematical Engineering from Stanford University. After graduation, he joined Apple, where he quickly rose to become the technical lead of the Apple AI Platform, leading his team in building a core platform hailed as “Apple’s PyTorch and CUDA,” and driving the large-scale deployment of several key AI technologies across the Apple ecosystem and the App Store. In December 2024, he founded RoboScience, a company focused on research and development in cross‑physical, general‑purpose embodied intelligence, dedicated to creating an embodied operating system and products for robots.

Shao Lin

Founder and Chief Scientist of RoboScience, and Assistant Professor at the National University of Singapore. He earned his undergraduate degree in Earth Sciences from Nanjing University and holds a Ph.D. from Stanford University, where he studied under Jeannette Bohg and Leonidas J. Guibas, focusing on robotic manipulation. He has published landmark research including D(R,O) Grasp, UniGrasp, and SAM-RL, and was nominated for the Best System Paper Award at RSS 2023 and received the Best Paper Award in Robotics Manipulation and Motion at ICRA 2025.

Liu Penghai

Co-founder of RoboScience. Former Vice President of the Ecovacs Group, a core member of both the Product Committee and the Strategy Committee, and General Manager of Ecovacs Motors. Possesses 16 years of experience in Fortune Global 500‑level management and over 20 years of expertise in new product development and launch. Led the establishment of Ecovacs’ IPD process and integrated supply chain management system from the ground up. Managed a team of more than 3,000 employees, oversaw the mass production of over 50 robotic products, and grew annual revenue from RMB 800 million to RMB 8 billion.

Wang Tao

Co-founder of RoboScience. Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics from the University of Science and Technology of China and a Master’s degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Iowa. Former Director, Head of Fundraising, and member of the core investment team at SenseTime Guoxiang Capital, where he spearheaded the establishment of the fund’s fundraising and investor relations framework from the ground up, helping to launch a direct‑investment fund with assets under management totaling several billion yuan. With nearly a decade of experience in primary‑market equity investing, he has led investments in dozens of companies across AI, integrated circuits, and cutting‑edge technology sectors, with multiple portfolio companies achieving IPOs or M&A exits.
